The Bastille was a fortress and prison, it’is renowned worldwide for the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, which marked the beginning of the French Revolution. La straordinaria torre di ferro del 19° secolo si slancia nel cielo per 324 metri, tanto quanto un grattacielo di 80 piani. Quando la torre fu completata (1889) era la struttura più alta del mondo. Quando scende la sera, come per magia la torre brilla per 10 minuti ogni ora fino all’una di notte.

La Chiesa di Saint Sulpice (Église Saint-Sulpice) è la seconda più grande di Parigi dopo Notre-Dame. Il bike sharing è la vera moda 2008 di Parigi, consiste nel visitare la città in bicicletta in un modo nuovo e intelligente. Nel centro di Parigi ci sono parcheggi per biciclette a noleggio ogni circa 300 metri, un po’ ovunque. E’ possibile prelevare (noleggiare) la bicicletta, andare dove si vuole e lasciarla in un altro parcheggio. Praticamente non si tratta di un noleggio per una giornata, ma di tanti brevi noleggi. Questo servizio dell’azienda Velib richiede una tessera ed è molto economico. .. vedi
