Is starts from Cancun following the highway 307 of Quintana Roo to Tulum, the coasts alongside the Caribbean has white marvelous sand beaches. The average annual temperature ranges from 25 °C to 30 °C. The region is flat, covered by tropical jungle and rich of Cenotes (sweet water lakes and caves). Near the Tulum beach there’s the second large coral reef of the world. The upper temple and the stairway were built on top of a lower and earlier building. On the map is marked: Tulum Riuns - The the archeological site of Tulum is located on the east coast of the Yucatan (Yucatán) peninsula (approx. 130 Km south of Cancun). Tulum was one of most important commercial ports on the East Coast, with a high degree of influence in the Maya area. While an inscription dated 564 has been found at Tulum site, most of the buildings today visible were built between 1200 and 1450. Coba construction began in the Early Classic period (300-600 a.d.) and the last modification was made in Post Classic Period (1000-1450 a.d.). The ancient city of Coba has the famous El Juego de Pelota (The Ball Court). On the map is marked: Coba Nohoch Mul Pyramid - Coba (Cobá) Nohoch Mul Pyramid is the tallest structure in north Yucatan (42m), was built on the top of a natural elevation. Nohoch Mul coming from the Maya nohoch meaning big, and mul meaning mound. It’s comprised of seven bodies with rounded corners and two stairs on southern side. The upper temple corresponds to the Post Classic Period (1100-1450 a.d.) On the map is marked: Coba by Bike - Coba (Cobá) riuns are located about 44 km northwest of the site of Tulum. Best way to explore the wild large ruined city is by bike (rented in the park). On the map is marked: Playa del Carmen - Originally a small fishing town, today Playa del Carmen is a city with approx. 100,000 inhabitants. Is the ideal pace for tourists, Playa has a long sandy beach. On the map is marked: Cancun - Cancun consists of two main areas, the mainland downtown commercial section (Cancún City), and the tourist Zona Hotelera (Hotels Zone) with white sandy beaches. On the map is marked: Cenote Dos Ojos, Ojo Uno - Cenotes Dos Ojos or Cenote Dos Ojos (Dos Ojos Cavern) is a diving cave near Playa del Carmen. Main caves of the Cenote Park are the Ojo Uno and the Ojo Dos (means first and second eye), they’re two big twin circular holes in the ground (view from satellite seems like two eyes). There’s a lake (13 meters deep) inside the first and biggest cave (the Ojo uno). On the map is marked: Cenote Dos Ojos, Ojo Dos - The Ojo Dos (the second eye) is connected with the Ojo Uno (the first one) by underwater tunnel which requires cylinders. There’s a lake also in the second eye. Cenote water temperature for snorkeling and diving is around 24 °C year-round. On the map is marked: Cenote Dos Ojos, The Bat Cave - The Bat Cave is connected with the Ojo Uno (the first eye) by a short underwater tunnel (15m) which require mask and snorkel. There’s also a stairs which lead inside the amazing Bat Cave. On the map is marked: How to reach Dos Ojos Cenote Park - Reaching Dos Ojos Cenote Park is easy, the entrance is along highway 307 of Quintana Roo which connects Playa del Carmen to Tulum. Dos Ojos Cavern is part of the Nohoch Nah Chich cave located Cenote Park. Dos Ojos Cavern was featured in a 2002 IMAX film: Journey Into Amazing Caves.
