The Caldera de Taburiente National Park contains the largest world's erosion crater (9 km diameter, 1500 m depth). The highest peak is the Roque de los Muchachos (2,423 m) on the northern wall. The island of La Palma has a very clear sky at night and is it's the best place in the Northern Hemisphere where to watch the stars. Roque de los Muchachos Astronomical Observatory is located in The Caldera de Taburiente National Park.
