Kathmandu is the capital and biggest city of Nepal (950.000 inhabitants), the city of Patan belongs to the surrounding area of Kathmandu city, both are located in the outstanding Kathmandu Valley which has been deemed a UNESCO World Heritage site. The seven groups of monuments and buildings included in Unesco list are: Durbar Squares of Hanuman Dhoka (Kathmandu), Patan and Bhaktapur, the Buddhist stupas of Swayambhu and Bauddhanath and the Hindu temples of Pashupati and Changu Narayan.
